BSF kills 1 in Satkhira
A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Kolaroa frontier of Satkhira early Monday. The deceased was identified as Altaf Hossain, 22, a resident of Boalia village in Kolaroa upazila, reports a correspondent from Satkhira. BSF troops of Tarali camp of 24 Parganas district opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders when they were returning from India with a consignment of cattle, Lt Col Abu Bashir, commanding officer of 38 Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Satkhira confirmed. Altaf caught in fire and died on the spot, he said. The Indian troops also detained one Mohid Hossain, 30, an assistant of Altaf, he added.
