‘Indian expansionist attitude creates distrust’
Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) provisional central committee general secretary Santosh Rana on Friday said Indian expansionist attitude had created distrust and confusion among the neighbouring countries.
Santosh, also one of the leaders of Naxalbari Movement, which took place in the state of West Bengal, India, said this while delivering ‘Dr Ahmed Sharif Memorial Lecture’ in the Dhaka University Business Studies faculty conference room.
Swadesh Chinta Sangha organised the programme marking 13th death anniversary of critic, writer and scholar of medieval Bangla literature Ahmed Sharif.
Communist leader Jasimuddin Mandal and physician Quazi Kamruzzaman were also awarded ‘Dr Ahmed Sharif Memorial Award 2012’ at the programme.
Santosh Rana said Indian expansionist attitude toward Bangladesh was noticeable.
He said India was denying to Bangladesh share of the water of the trans-boundary rivers such as the Ganga, Teesta, Barak, Surma and others.
Jatiya Mukti Council president veteran politician Badruddin Umar at the programme as chief guest said movement against capitalism around the world had made it clear that for actual freedom, socialism was the only solution.
