Karl Lagerfeld presented his Metiers d’Arts pre-fall collection in Paris this week, with a working theme of ‘Paris–Bombay’. It was a blockbusting affair, complete with banquet tables and lashings of Indian references (despite the fact that Karl says he’s never actually been to India). This collection featured a lot of hand crafted embellishment, which might have been Indian in flavour but was made by the Chanel ateliers in Paris.
